Aker Wirth and its employees
People @ Aker Wirth provides you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the company and its employees. These are portraits of people who carry out their work each and every day and, by doing so, ensure the success of Aker Wirth. We invite you to get an idea of our company and our people.
Wilfried Borgs, Manager Production Planning
During my studies in mechanical engineering in Aachen, I was able to write my student research thesis at Aker Wirth; after that, I devoted myself to the Special Projects division. Today, I am head of production planning, equipment design engineering, assembly planning and job-order production.
Peter Müller, Manager Engineering for Foundation and Mining
I’ve been with Aker Wirth for almost 30 years. Already at the age of 15, I completed a fitter’s apprenticeship at Aker Wirth. I arrived in my current position by way of positions in assembly (hydraulics), further training as a hydraulics designing engineer, and other stages along the way.
Jörg Papenfuß, Technical Specialist for Oilfields & Pumps
Since the beginning of 2006, I've been working in the Business Unit Oilfield. Among other things, my responsibilities include programming the controls of drawworks and pumps, as well as the commissioning of equipment delivered by Aker Wirth. That is why 30 - 50% of my working hours consist of business travel.
Florian Wolters, Project Manager Oilfield
My work at Aker Wirth is an exceptional stroke of good luck for me, because it offers such an exciting way to combine my commercial training with my interests in technology, which are just as strong. Today, I am working as a project manager in the oilfields division.
